Kevin Jones grew up in the eastern Oklahoma cattle and hay industry. It was during the four years at Oklahoma State University that he grew to love the dairy industry. Starting his freshman year, he lived and worked at the O.S.U. dairy barn, starting as a calf pen cleaner, moving up to milker ,then feeder, and finally spending his last year working with the research herd.
After graduation, Kevin spent two years gaining invaluable experience running the dairy research herd at O.S.U. Working with professors and graduate students on many different research projects. Kevin’s role was feed ration preparation and delivery, herd management, record keeping, body condition evaluation, and retrieval and evaluation of feed refusal. This experience, in evaluating the eating habits of individual animals, on multiple rations, with multiple ingredients, set the foundation for the development of “Precision Nutrition”.
After leaving O.S.U., Kevin and his wife, Tammy, managed dairy herds all over the country for 12 years. The couple was very successful in becoming “turn-around specialists”. They managed herds in New York, West Virginia, Wisconsin, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Tammy managed the youngstock, while Kevin ran the dairy herd and farming operations. They were very successful in implementing change that made huge improvements to the bottom line. During their stay in New York, they managed the highest producing herd in the Northeast for two years. These experiences, mostly with small herds, along with the research work, provided experience that could be gained no other way. Learning to read cows in the many different environments, being fed extremely different feeds, taught Kevin the priceless lesson that cows, more specifically the rumen can flourish under many environments , fed many different combinations of feeds.
For the last 15 years, Kevin and Tammy have been the owners of Ghost Hollow Consulting. With clients in five states and two foreign countries GHC is one of the premier dairy management consulting firms in the world. Kevin has developed a record analysis system unequaled by anyone. The Precision Nutrition System is used to uniquely build a feeding program that maximizes income over feed cost and therefore maximizes profit. Kevin’s unique background has given him abilities to completely analyze dairies to make his clients the most profitable in the dairy industry.

Cameron Nightingale grew up in the Wichita area of Central Kansas where he worked for several large grain and beef cattle producers. He attended Kansas State University, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science in 2001, followed by a Master of Agribusiness degree in 2005. The focus of his Masters work was quantifying the costs and benefits of managing somatic cell counts in commercial dairy herds.
Cameron and his wife Kendra relocated to Upstate New York in 2001, allowing Kendra to pursue her PhD in Food Science, which she completed in 2005. While in New York, Cameron worked as a Research Associate for Cornell University's Quality Milk Production Services with a focus on the commercial research of mastitis control, beginning Cameron's passion for the dairy industry.
In 2004, Cameron joined a feed additive supplier as a Sales Manager in the Northeast, allowing him to spend much of his time working directly on-farm with dairy producers to enhance their profitability through their feeding and herd health programs.
Cameron and Kendra relocated to Colorado in 2006 when he was promoted to the position of Regional Manager of the Central US. She accepted an Assistant Professor position with Colorado State University where she currently focuses on research and outreach on pre- and post-harvest food safety. With his passion leading him to work directly with producers, Cameron switched career paths, joining a national feed manufacturer as a Dairy Nutrition and Management Consultant. In April 2008, Cameron joined Pickert Dairy full-time as a staff nutritionist and manager.
In January 2009, Cameron realized that using his real world dairy management experience to work as an independent nutrition and management consultant would benefit not only Pickert Dairy but other dairy producers as well, bringing him back to his original long term career objectives. The opportunity to be on multiple dairy farms offers tremendous benefit by enabling him to identify areas of opportunity on a regional basis. After evaluating many different options, Cameron joined Ghost Hollow Consulting due to the firm's honesty, integrity, and proven track record of results for client dairies.
Having worked in academia, several capacities of the dairy allied industry, as well as on the farm, Cameron has sat on many sides of the table, giving him a unique perspective and ability to consult with dairy producers in many different capacities. He continues his position with Pickert Dairies where his primary responsibilities include nutrition, feed, and feeding management. These tasks transfer directly to his consulting clients and within these key areas: commodity procurement and forward contracting, forage management, ration formulation, and working with employees to minimize inconsistencies in the feeding program, compromising the day-to-day activities. Coupling these activities with benchmarking herd health, performance, and final measurements assist the business to make informed, intelligent decisions.
